Leisure & Recreation Programs

Riverlink is proud to continue to present our Leisure and Recreation programs. These supported programs provide a range of social opportunities to address the interests, abilities and needs of people with disability. They focus on building skills, independence and social participation.

Activities take place at various times during the week and on weekends.

Camps and Retreats:

Riverlink Camps provide social participation and assist with independence in a fun and safe environment. As well as sporting and craft activities, our Camp participants might attend a theatre production, spend a few hours enjoying the facilities on the Northern Beaches and enjoy our themed Disco dance party. The food is delicious, the rooms have ensuite bathrooms and the Riverlink staff are fantastic.

If you are concerned about being away from home, sleeping in a shared room, require assistance with eating or other personal care needs, or you have different sleeping patterns, our staff will help you. They are kind and patient, caring, calm and enjoy helping you achieve your goals.

Riverlink Retreats are similar to camps but participants are aged over 18 years. In addition to the activities provided at camps, our Retreat participants might attend a football game, spend a few hours at the beach and enjoy fish and chips, stroll around Manly Markets and everybody still enjoys our themed Disco dance party.

Many activities at Camps and Retreats help build teamwork skills, encourage communication between participants, and can give you the opportunity to learn skills and take on responsibilities that you don’t usually get at home.
Whether you have low or high support needs, Riverlink Camps and Retreats can give you the skills and confidence to assist you in your everyday life.

Riverlink Discos are a fun way to get your body moving while meeting others in a safe environment. They happen in the evening, once a month on a Friday in Baulkham Hills and every second month on a Wednesday in Castle Hill. We can even drop you home afterwards.

10 Pin Bowling:

Riverlink Wednesday night Bowling runs for 48 weeks of the year. This is an opportunity to improve your 10 pin bowling skills with a group of like-minded adults and we can drop you home afterwards. At the end of the year, celebrate your achievement with your friends and take home a certificate and trophy from our end-of-year party night.

Additional Activities and Transport:

We can provide you with the assistance you need to enable you to participate in activities of your choosing. If you have an activity you do regularly or even occasionally but you need support, contact Riverlink.

We know that sometimes just getting to activities can be a major hurdle. Riverlink has many transport options available, so contact us with your requirements.
