These programs provide community access for young adults and adults who are living with disability and are aged 18 to 64 years. Activities take place on Saturdays, Wednesday and Friday evenings and depending on the program, run for 2 to 6 hours.

Here are just some of the activities our Adult groups do each week:

  • Tasting the cuisines of the world at restaurants
  • 10 Pin Bowling
  • Watching movies
  • Eating a picnic lunch at a lovely park
  • Popping along to a Festival such as Cronulla Spring Festival
  • Enjoying a delicious High Tea
  • Checking out the zoos
  • Playing Aqua Golf or Mini Golf
  • Seeing what is new at Sydney’s Museums such as the Maritime or Fire or Modern
  • Art Museum
  • Visiting many of the local Saturday markets
  • Having lunch at a café and, best of all, being with some friends for a few hours.

This program provides respite to Carers of Adults generally aged 16 years and over.

Staffing for this program is in accordance to the support needs of the care recipients, with some capacity to be flexible in meeting the needs of younger children with a disability who have higher support needs.

 

 

Camps


 

Riverlink provides respite through the organisation of Camps during the week in the school holidays and on weekends during the school term, as resources allow.

Care Recipients from both Northern Sydney and Cumberland-Prospect are eligible for camp. This is currently being held at Uniting Venues, Elanora Heights. Participants engage in a variety of arts and crafts, and sporting activities as well as community outings, appropriate to their age.

 

 

 

 

Bowling


 

This program provides respite to Carers of Young Adults with a disability generally aged 16 years and over. This program runs on Wednesday evenings throughout the year, except over Christmas holidays, and is a Bowling League competition.

Staffing for this program is in accordance to the support needs of the Care Recipients, with some capacity to be flexible in meeting the needs of Young Adults with a disability who have higher support needs.

 

 

 

Day Breakers


 

This program provides respite to Carers of Young Adults with a disability aged 18 years and over who have left school and have some free time during the week. Activities take place on Thursdays during the day. Activities consist of outings such as meals, movies, art gallery visits, museums, zoos, and bowling, as well as practical life skills such as cooking and travel on public transport.

Staffing for this program is in accordance to the support needs of the Care Recipients, with some capacity to be flexible in meeting the needs of Young Adults with a disability who have higher support needs.

 

 

 

 

Disco


 

This program provides respite to Carers of young adults with a disability generally aged 16 years and over. The discos are held once a month at a venue in Baulkham Hills and Castle Hill.

Staffing for these programs is in accordance to the support needs of the Care Recipients, with some capacity to be flexible in meeting the needs of adults with a disability who have higher support needs

Socialites


 

This program provides respite to Carers of Young Adults with a disability generally aged 16 years and over. Activities take place on alternating Friday evenings and alternating Saturdays. Friday evenings comprise of outings such as meals at various restaurants and theatre shows, whilst Saturday activities may comprise of movies, art gallery shows or museums.

 

 

 

 

Young Adults


 

This program provides respite to Carers of young adults with a disability generally aged 16 years and over. The Young Adults program generally takes place on Wednesday & Friday evenings. The Friday discos are held once a month at a venue in Baulkham Hills and Castle Hill.
